On December 1st at 8am the Main Street Lorain had their meeting at the Spectrum Offices at 129 West 4th St (the old Club West). Jim Long requested committee reports and updates. There was announcements from Waterfront Winterfest and LGC Tourism council. Also Spectrum updated us on new projects they are developing downtown at 401 Broadway. Breakfast was offered for $7.00 per person.
LORAIN KICKS OFF HOLIDAY SEASON WITH
(November 1, 2017) Main Street Lorain – LGCwill once again host Lorain Waterfront Winterfest, the community-based, family-friendly event that kicks-off the holiday season in Downtown Lorain over Thanksgiving weekend on Saturday, November 25, 2017.
As in past years, Waterfront Winterfest will offer time-honored holiday activities including fireworks, magical and enchanting Christmas lights, and of course, the arrival of Santa. “The highlight every year is the arrival of Santa and this year will be extra special when he arrives at Veterans Park on the “Red Express” with super heroes and elves,” Steve Bansek, Waterfront Winterfest chairman said. “We are also delighted to have WKYC reporter and Lorain native, Tiffany Tarpley, join us again this year for the festivities.”

David Hardy, new CEO for Lorain City Schools, spoke at the Friday,
Nov. 3, breakfast meeting at the Palace Theater, 617 Broadway, Lorain,
for the Lorain Growth Corporation breakfast meeting. We begin eating
at 8 am and Mr. Hardy spoke from 8:15 to 8:45 a.m. Lorain Growth
Corp. President Jim Long allowed speak and allowed announcements from
the audience. You don’t have to eat to attend this meeting.
The Morning Journal has a new location at 2500 West Erie Ave., Lorain. Joining us for our Friday, June 2, Lorain Growth Corporation breakfast and consortium meeting at the Palace Theater, 617 Broadway, was Morning Journal Publisher Jeff Schell and Managing Editor Darryl Q. Tucker. We started eating at 8 a.m. and begin socializing at 7:30 a.m.
Lorain Growth Corporation members and supporters held their monthly consortium meeting and breakfast May 5 at Lorain County Community College’s City Center Learning Center with breakfast catered by Spectrum Cafe. Cheryl Webber and Christine Reed spoke on Spectrum’s school and other facilities and services in downtown Lorain. A tour of the school followed the breakfast.
